Picture of the Week: Turbines and Trailers

This picture comes from a clean field in Iowa. In the distance you will see two semis and a wagon on the road. In the center and left of the picture are wind turbines. Iowa is the second largest producer of wind energy in the U.S., behind Texas. Iowa is an excellent place for wind energy due to the state's topography and electric transmission lines.

Remember, we are always looking for agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world. Submit pictures to farmlandforecast@colvin-co.com.

Wind turbines are fine unless the developers want to construct them on your land. I don't want to farm around them, hear their noice, have them shade my crops, or watch their blinking lights all night long.
