Picture of the week: Corn Harvest in the Dark

This picture was submitted from Pocahontas County, Iowa where farmers were harvesting corn around the clock in October. The grain moves from left to right in this picture. First, a combine picks the corn which is then transferred into a grain cart. The grain cart will then offload grain into a semi trailer where it will then be shipped out to the operator's on-farm storage facility or directly to a grain elevator. An ideal operator will never have their combine sit idle when harvesting a field.

Remember, we are always looking for agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world. Submit pictures to farmlandforecast@colvin-co.com.
