Picture of the Week: Winter Wheat in Uruguay

This picture shows a field of winter wheat in the Soriano district of Uruguay. Uruguay has rich agricultural land of which almost 90% is used for livestock raising, according to infoplease.com. Rice is the major food crop, followed by wheat and sugarcane. Other crops grown in Uruguay include barley, oats, grain sorghums, oil crops, and sugar beets.
