Corn Ready for Harvest in McPherson County, SD

This picture comes from Leola, South Dakota. Corn harvest has started and South Dakota has harvested 38% of their crop thus far. The official state bird of South Dakota is the pheasant and hunting season for these birds began last Saturday at noon east of the Missouri River. Every third weekend in October hunters come from all over the world to bag their limit of pheasants. Opening weekend is important to South Dakota as it helps boast the economy and tourism due to the large amount of people traveling throughout the state.
