Picture of the week: Wind Turbine Transportation in Buxton, ND

This picture comes from Buxton, North Dakota and is becoming a familiar sight when driving on I-29. Wind turbines are much larger than the average semitrailer and can cause major traffic jams in rural areas when the trucks need to make any turns. When being transported, wind turbine parts are escorted by vehicles with flashing lights to help warn travelers of the oversized load ahead. The pictured truck is moving a single blade of a wind turbine.

Remember, we are always looking for agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world. Submit pictures to farmlandforecast@colvin-co.com.
