Picture of the week: Corn in Tanzania

This picture comes from Kikatiti, Tanzania. The corn grown here, just three degrees below the equator, should be ready for harvest in another two to three weeks. The hybrid corn pictured was planted by hand along with the second crop that is being grown at the same time below the corn. Since crops are harvested by hand, multiple crops can be grown at the same time. All tillage is done by hand or oxen.

Remember, we are always looking for agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world. Submit pictures to farmlandforecast@colvin-co.com.
