Picture of the Week: Grain Elevator in Anoka, MN

This picture comes from Anoka, Minnesota. The Anoka Independent grain elevator, located on the Rum River and rail line, now serves as a feed and fertilizer store. Many grain elevators have slowly gone out of business due to the lack of rural growth across the Midwest while other elevators have grown. Grain elevators have served as convenient offtakes for farmers who do not need the grain they grow for feed. Often farmers will have a few different elevators to choose from within their local area.

Remember, we are always looking for agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world. Submit pictures to farmlandforecast@colvin-co.com
