Picture of the week: Early Thaw in Wisconsin

This picture was taken earlier this week in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Throughout the past week unseasonably warm temperatures have been present across the entire Corn Belt promoting an early season thaw. Considering the extreme amounts of snow that has already been recorded, farmers are welcoming any early season thaw to help prepare the ground for a successful planting season in April. Corn stalks are already showing through the snow in Wisconsin; bare ground could be coming soon.

Remember, we are always looking for more agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world. Submit pictures to farmlandforecast@colvin-co.com.
