Picture of the week: South Dakota Pheasant Hunt

This picture comes from Faulk County, South Dakota. Besides growing important grains that feed the world, Midwestern farmland also grows a lot of wildlife, including pheasants. Farmland owners may not visit their farms very often if they have a strong relationship with their operator, but an annual hunting trip in fall often can become another great perk of owning the land, along with annual cash rents of upwards to 5%. Small and large game hunting can be done almost anywhere in the Corn Belt.

Remember, we are always looking for more agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world. Submit pictures to farmlandforecast@colvin-co.com.
