Picture of the Week: Corn Maze in Eau Claire, Wisconsin

This picture comes from just outside of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Harvest has started among many of states in the Corn Belt, and with harvest comes the fall holidays. The classic tradition of a corn maze can be seen in this picture. Farmers may create mazes in their corn fields prior to harvesting to attract visitors and help celebrate to coming of the fall season. In this week’s USDA Crop Progress Report, over half of the U.S. corn crop has reached maturity. The corn harvest could slow down due to the large amount of rain that fell across much of the Midwest this past week.
