Picture of the week: Bean harvest dust
This picture comes from Wisconsin, back in Autumn. This farmer was able to find a dry day to harvest their soyeans, shown by the large amount of dust. As the snow fell and harvest was dragged out into December, many combines found their way into shops because of ice and snow damage. When a late harvest occurs, snow can stick and hold onto ears of corn. When the combine picks the ears, all the snow comes with and can jam up moving parts inside a combine.
