Picture of the week: Soybean harvest in Roberts County, South Dakota

This picture comes from Roberts County, South Dakota. Farmers worked as fast as possible on this dry day last week. Wet conditions have delayed harvest of soybeans and corn across the upper Midwest. Over an inch of rain is expected in Northeast South Dakota with snow to follow over the Halloween weekend.

Some grain elevators have reportedly been paying a premium on corn and accepting higher moisture levels because the elevators have become short on corn. Drying costs have been very high for soybeans due to the wet harvest conditions as well.

Remember, we are always looking for more agricultural pictures from anywhere in the world.
